Familien Pollitt/Pollette und Reis
Hi Chris,
of course, I can try to help you in English if it's better for you understand...
You can also find the documents of the Registrationoffice Liebemuehl hier : http://allenstein.draschba.de/bestand.php?id=890
If you find something you need help with translation just contact me, I'll see what I can do for you...
The document I've loaded up yesterday is a birth certificate of 1885 (mothers name Luise Reihs, not married)
There are no Registrations documents before 1875 - for more details you have to search in Church records (that's the 2nd Link I've sent)...
Bye for now and greetings from Germany
Marion
Thank you, Marion! I appreciate your offer. I am having the most trouble with the cursive, and magnifying the image does not improve my ability to read it. If you do not mind translating, I would be very grateful.
I checked out two books from the library on the history of Liebemühl. Both are entirely in German, of course! I am certain translating them will help immerse me in the language!
Thanks!
Chris
Hi Chris,
maybe this alphabet is a little help for you http://www.suetterlinschrift.de/Lese/Alphabet.htm
In search of details of my family I've found an excellent help here: https://germanscriptexperts.com/
Unfortunatly Ute Brandenburg is a professional translator, but she also travels to FamilyHistoryCenter Utah twice a year, searches in church record books and so on. The charge is not much (I think) for the work she does, she's found and given me so many details about my family.
But of course, I'll help you with translating in future, too
Bye for now
Marion
Thank you for the excellent resources, Marion! I appreciate your help!
Sincerely,
Chris
