Pr. Holland - pfefferkuchen tradition
Hello,
My name is Piotr Adamczyk - currently working as a director in a Public Library in Paslek (Preussisch Holland). I am also a historian. FOr a few years I've been workin and rediscovering the forgotten tradition of pfefferkuchen in Paslek. Till the IIWW town was famous for its pfefferkuchen - we have newspaper advertisements, some memories (i.e. can be found in Elbinger Nachrichten). We have managed to start a "Paslek pfefferkuchen" line in one ofthe old town cake shops (Hildebrandt) - the product is beeing made in a cake shop which has been build in the 70's in the exact place where the Zander (earlier Wawrzinsky) cake shop and restaur and was before 1945.
I am looking for more information about this local tradition, maybe there is someone from Zander familly (last owners of the cake shop at Ritterstrasse). There where also more restaurants and sweetshops: A. Zachowsky on Steintorstrasse, Alfred Ax on Ritterstrasse/Markt, Kruger/Jarcke on Markt and more.
I am looking for any kind of information, that could help in he ressearch and recreation of the tradition.
